He Just Couldn’t Stay Away

About four years ago Dr. Ian Dunbar gave what he thought would probably be his last multi-day seminar in the U.S. He had been doing the lecture circuit for about 25 years and really wanted the opportunity to spend more time at home and to work on projects such as Dog Star Daily and the K9 Games®. It was time to wind down, or so he thought.

During this “hiatus” Dr. Dunbar has: helped successfully launch a K9 Games organization in Japan, acquired a new dog, filmed numerous educational dog training clips for television and the web, served as advisor to prominent dog-themed websites, been featured in the New York Times, assisted in the inception of several educational dog training organizations throughout Europe, brought his publishing company into the digital age, redesigned his classic SIRIUS® puppy training course, launched an Internet radio show, and reconnected with old friends (and great minds) in the business. So much for taking it easy.

Times are changing! Dog training shows are now prevalent on television, the popularity of dog sports has soared, new technology is making it easier than ever to reach people in search of easy, efficient, effective dog training information. With all of these exciting new developments, and lots and lots of invitations, Dr. D found that he just couldn’t stay away. He’s decided to do a series of lectures throughout the U.S. through 2010 because he misses it and because in his “time off” he’s come to many new conclusions and wants to share them with all of us. Information on his upcoming appearances is continually being updated and can be found at JamesandKenneth.com and if you’d like to see a little sample of his speaking style, and what’s on his mind these days check out this clip from his first, full-length lecture at EG/TED 2007 at the Getty in Los Angeles.
