Four Feet on the Floor: Jumping up behaviour in puppies and dogs

Dog's only grow into things that they keep practising!  Brilliant!

Informational video... a bit bland, but informational. What do you do if your dog jumps straight up and down? My Aussie mix Pierson jumps straight up and down when he is excited. He doesn't jump on me but sometimes he slips on the hardwood floor and I'm afraid he will hurt himself. He also did it once when he was startled by my roommate. She came into the room and Pierson jumped straight up and barked at her in her face. He didn't try to bite or touch her in any way but it scared her as much as it initially scared him.
