VP Elect Biden to get second puppy

This morning on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," VP-elect Biden revealed he will be getting a second dog from the pound, preferably a Golden Retriever.

He claims this is not to appease his critics but says his family has always had two dogs and had already planned on getting a second one for his wife that would ultimately be a companion for the puppy. He says their cat came from the pound as well. All I know is, I sure hope he fires whoever his dog advisor is. For one, certainly they could have found a less questionable GSD breeder. From most accounts it seems they chose a commercial breeder who sold more than 100 puppies last year alone. Uggh. Additionally, the breeder has recently been cited by the Pennsylvania's Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement for maintenance and record keeping violations. Double Uggh. Lastly, wouldn't it have appeared much more sincere if they'd chosen the rescue Golden first and added the puppy later? Now instead of being a heartwarming story, it's become tainted with suspicion. Hmmmm, this all could very well be a strategic move on Biden's part to do some damage control. We'll never know for sure. For me the bottom line is another dog will hopefully be getting a good, forever home. That's what's most important, don't you think?
