Playing Friendly Adult Dog

Silky Leash is a simple method for training a dog to walk politely on leash. It's straightforward, pain-free, and it works! All it takes is a little patience, but a lot less patience than the old standbys, like be a tree! It's all about teaching the dog that leash pressure is a cue, versus just getting them to avoid it.

Bombo defers to Lilli. His body language communicates his place in the world and his desire to eat! I'm told that the raised paw is a submissive message. But to me, it looks like he's ready to take off as soon as Lilli shows her fangs. (Note: Bombo is now 10 months old and now competes on equal ground with Lilli.)

Bombo's has always been a pretty responsive little guy. I started teaching him to sit and come, and then for all the usual excuses that dog people come up with, I neglected his training. Bombo is now 10-1/2 months old. He's very confident dog, who adores meeting people and other dogs. In fact, he shrieks and bucks wildly if he is not allowed to go to people or dogs right away. I will be seeking tips from DogStar Daily to get us both under control ASAP!

This is a video of Bombo at age 18 weeks when he was just learning to sit and come. Unfortunately, I neglected his training because he had some serious health issues. He is now 10-1/2 months and seriously in need of training. He just had phase two of a surgical repair of a major cleft palate. One more surgery to go!

Bombo was born with a major cleft palate. Despite this problem, he has boundless energy. In this video, he is 5 months old. He has just learned how to walk up and down a ramp.

This is just a little clip of my male Boerboel "Blue", working on his dumbell retrieve for the Schutzhund 1 title It's still a little sloppy, & I have to go back & work on his focus on me before I send him, & *not* being so eager to get back to me that he runs me down! lol

Unlike many bitesport trainers, I feel it's very important for dogs to be able to enjoy each other's company. This is my Boerboel bitch "Batu", my Bouvier bitch "Nessie", & my boyfriend's Dutch Shepherd "Takula", enjoying messing up the furniture. All of these dogs are trained for various sports like French Ringsport, Schutzhund, etc.

Frankie is a 5 month old foster pit bull puppy that I volunteer trained and Nigel is a 2 year old Kelpie-Boxer-Pointer. Nigel helped teach Frankie how to play and tug appropriately and at the end when Nigel says "game over" with his tone of voice Frankie very nicely walks away. Frankie now resides in Oregon with his wonderful new family :)

This is our Doberman cross trying to catch a laser pointer. She was tragically killed a day or so after this video was taken, and this is our tribute to her. She was an amazing dog, smart, funny, energetic, full of life. This video shows a small piece of the joy she had and the joy she brought to all of us. We miss her dearly.

Our golden retrievers love to play in the water! If you look closely, you will see that there is a toy in the pool that they are trying to 'retrieve'. Ice Princess finally gets it and wants everyone to notice her. Watch how she keeps darting back and forth in front of the camera. Entertainment doesnt have to cost much for these dogs :)
